Class Descriptions:
Intro to Swimming for Adults: This is our most beginner adult lesson offered at the Wade King Pool. This is a slow-paced course aimed at making attendees feel comfortable in the water through a variety of progressions and activities. Instructors will work on buoyancy, fully submerging the head, breath control, front floats, back floats, and glides. Depending on the level of the class the instructor will introduce treading, kicking, basic arm movements in the water, and elementary backstroke.
Swimming for Fitness: This is an intermediate swim course that focuses on improving strokes and skills. Swimmers should know how to effectively swim one length of the pool by themselves. Instructors will work to increase efficiency of strokes and introduce more advanced strokes and skills such as breaststroke, butterfly and flip turns.
