Hanna Barton

Major:  Senior studying Kinesiology

Specialty:  General strength training and helping my clients build confidence in the gym setting.

Philosophy:  It doesn't need to be something you HAVE to do, but rather something you WANT to do.  Moving your body is amazing and taking advantage of that in a way that is challenging can bring us joy.  Developing discipline through exercise has its benefits such as mental and physical wellbeing.

Favorite exercise:  I love any back and core exercises!!

Pierce Bock

Major: Urban sustainability and Climate Leadership

Specialty: I specialize in training for outdoor recreation primarily focused on climbing, hiking, backpacking and skiing.

Philosophy: My fitness philosophy is based off of the Japanese word “Ikagai” which refers to something that gives you a purpose or meaning in life. (Not to be taken too literally, I’m actually Chinese). I believe that movement is essential to our mental and physical health, and in turn, is one of life's daily pleasures.

Favorite Exercise: My favorite exercise is the stair climber, there’s nothing like it for getting a sweat on in under 5 minutes.

Reece Forman

Major: I am a declared Kinesiology, Exercise Science major.

Specialty: I specialize in Olympic Weightlifting as well as Crossfit styles of training. Having a vast background in Crossfit and more recently converting into strictly Olympic Weightlifting.

Fitness Philosophy: My fitness philosophy is that all progress takes place outside of your comfort zone. What this means to me is when you see a fitness wall that you have to get over, you don’t figure out ways to get around it, you hit that wall head on!

Favorite Exercise: My favorite exercise is the Snatch, there are so many moving parts that make it beyond rewarding to have all of them fall into place perfectly.

Ruby Gruber

Major: Kinesiology; Pre-health care specialization

Specialty: Beginning Weight Training and Functional Training

Fitness philosophy: Move your body unapologetically!! I believe that exercise should be accessible for all individuals no matter their background. Movement is a beautiful thing that can look different for everyone. My objective is to help exercise be enjoyable to establish long-term intrinsic motivation and eventually achieve goals!

Favorite exercise: Squats because of how versatile (and fun!) they are.

Major: B.S. Kinesiology pre healthcare

Minor: Business Administration

Specialty: I specialize in functional movement training. I help people gain the strength and mobility needed to do the activities they love (run, hike, bike, climb, garden, golf, etc.).

Philosophy: I take a holistic approach to fitness. I like to look at all aspects of life and the impact and implications each one can have toward your health. I believe fitness and exercise can help improve our mental and physical health. Let's get fit together!

Favorite exercise: One of my favorite exercises are squats because they are so versatile and are a great compound movement.

Max Rinehart

Major: Kinesiology, Exercise Science.

Specialty: I specialize in high-resistance and low-volume training styles that are best suited for growing muscle size and building absolute strength.

Fitness Philosophy: I firmly believe that fitness is a lifelong pursuit and because of this the most important thing you can do is find some form of activity you love and work from there. In my opinion the most important aspect of any training program is adherence and consistency which both stem from enjoyment. By focusing on finding enjoyment in exercise first you can establish life-long habits that will leave you happy and healthy well into your senior years.

Favorite Exercise: My favorite exercise is anything I can do on a smith machine, especially the seated overhead press.

Hailey Thomas

Major: Kinesiology, Exercise Science

Specialty: I specialize in Olympic weightlifting and sports performance. I am a nationally ranked Olympic weightlifter, I independently run a weightlifting program, and currently,  I am the head strength coach for the Sehome High School football team.

Philosophy: Being an athlete, especially in Olympic weightlifting, has changed my life and presented me with so many opportunities that I never would have thought possible. Engagement in this sport has shown and taught me more than I ever would have expected,  and is a privilege I want to be able to give back to my community and share with as many people as possible.

Favorite Exercise: Snatches and handstands are for sure my favorite - I love the technique and precision involved in both and the detail and time involved in perfecting them!

Aidan Vanbrink

Major: Physical Education and Health & Kinesiology
Specialty: Beginning Weight Training & Sports Performance
Fitness philosophy: When Personal Training I have a passion to help all my clients find a love for moving and exercise. If we all learn to enjoy movement then we can all become lifelong exerciser and find more joy in other hobbies and activities that make us who we are. When training I do not want to simply bring in a plan and execute but to strive to help you gain autonomy in an exercise facility.
Favorite exercise: Lately, my favorite exercise has been any variation of the vertical jump. I have grown to love this exercise of late because I never was able to jump that high in my adolescents so it is really exciting to be able to see growth.
