About

Jill MacIntyre Witt has been a fitness instructor since 2010 at Western Washington University. She has been coaching youth recreational and competitive soccer for 25 years, with advanced coaching license. She also received Ralph Vernaccia’s last Peak Performance course certification through Western’s Center for Performance Excellence and recently completed the Mayo Clinic Wellness Program and is working towards her NBHWC certification.

Jill teaches a variety of classes, including soccer, ultimate, pickleball, badminton, racquetball and volleyball. She also teaches sustainability courses through the College of the Environment here at Western, where she received her Masters in Environmental Studies in 2017.

In addition to her love of sports, health and wellness, Jill’s scholarship is in climate justice, has a TEDx Talk, and authored the Climate Justice Field Manual. She is listed as one of the UN 2019 Top 100 Human Rights Defenders and strives to help others connect health and wellness with climate action.
