Juliet Evans
She/Her, Climbing Instructor
About
Juliet started bouldering when she was a student at Western in 2007. While she pursued many hobbies, rock climbing intrigued her because of the combination of strength, flexibility, and problem solving that it entailed. After she finished her Masters in Adult and Higher Education, Juliet decided to further her skills by taking a Basic Mountaineering Course with the Skagit Alpine Club and got hooked to all things mountaineering! Since then, she has taught and coordinated parts of the 10 week Basic Mountaineering Course for the Skagit Alpine Club, covering basic outdoor rock climbing skill, lead belay, ice axe arrest and crevasse rescue skills for 5 years. Through this time she has also taken on several personal climbing objectives including alpine traditional climbing and sport climbing multi pitch routes in Washington, California and Squamish as well as many amazing Washington climbing objectives such as Mount Rainier, Mount Olympus, Sahale, Eldorado, Prussik Peak and more. Her passion for mountaineering lies in the opportunity to challenge herself, finding ways to break down her own mental barriers of "There's no way I can do that!" Her goal is to help others find joy and passion in fitness and outdoors, and to find the places they can challenge and surprise themselves in new ways at any level they want to.
